Our long-term responsibility

The economic, environmental and social challenges we face have to be tackled as a whole if we are to live up to our responsibility to future generations.

Our aim – to create a better tomorrow

We shape the world around us. Each decision we make has a consequence for which we bear responsibility, but each and every one of us can also make a positive impact. We’re aware of this responsibility, and for us, sustainability is about actions rather than words: in every aspect the way we run our business, sustainability is a non-negotiable requirement.

Environmental policy

How we interpret our corporate responsibility

As a modern, dynamic and forward-thinking company, PMS is committed to the highest quality, safety, environmental and energy efficiency standards. Everything we do when it comes to quality, safety, health and environmental issues helps establish ourselves as a leader in electrical and automation technology and as a high-quality business brand.

Sustainable business management is playing an increasingly important role when it comes to the life cycle of the systems and switch cabinets we supply. Ever since PMS was founded, ongoing maintenance and servicing of industrial systems have been a key part of our business – modifying and expanding existing systems is an effective way to conserve resources, increase capacity and improve energy efficiency. We also adapt and upgrade existing systems to new safety regulations, standards and laws: one example is the 40 kWp photovoltaic system at our site in St. Stefan, which in 2020 was upgraded to 300 kWp.

One team – one goal

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS INPUT FROM EVERYWHERE

The PMS environment team consists of the core environment team and the expanded environment team and is responsible for consolidation and operational implementation of our environment and energy management system, and for maintaining our high health and safety standards. The team addresses all concerns relating to energy and the environment, establishes findings and potential improvements, lays the groundwork for the necessary measures and helps implement them as part of the company’s everyday practices.

The PMS Integrated Management System

We have established a management system which meets both the requirements of an IMS and our company goals.

The PMS Integrated Management System meets the requirements for:

  • a quality management system (EN ISO 9001:2015)
  • the environmental management system (EN ISO 14001:2015 and the EMAS III (EC) regulation no. 1221/2009)
  • an occupational health and safety management system (SCCP: 2011)
  • an energy management system (EN ISO 50001:2018)

Looking after our staff

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS INPUT FROM EVERYWHERE

We value the close relationships we have within the PMS family very highly, as they’re a key factor behind our success. Our aim is to give our staff an attractive working environment, with opportunities for personal and professional development at a successful company which fosters innovation and encourages diversity.

Our processes and workflows are designed to reflect all these values and our commitment to sustainable personal development. We put people – our customers, staff and suppliers – at the heart of our activities as a company and as an employer.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals are international political goals covering the social, environmental and economic aspects of sustainable development. As an EMAS-certified company, we at PMS are committed to maintaining sustainable business practices in our value chain. For this purpose, we have conducted a thorough SDG analysis of all our in-house departments in order to establish how the SDGs relate to what they do. This analysis showed that PMS can have a direct influence on 8 of the 17 goals. We feel a strong sense of regional identity, so we work hard to play our part in the sustainable development of the Lavanttal valley as an economic area so that future generations living in the area have a bright future.
